ASETS – Employment and Training is an integrated approach to Aboriginal labour market programming that links training to labour market demand and ensures that Canada’s Aboriginal people can fully participate in economic opportunities.
Under this strategy, Aboriginal agreement holders design and deliver employment programs and services best suited to the unique needs of their clients. ASETS focuses on three (3) priorities:
- Supporting demand-driven skills development
- Fostering partnerships with the private sector and the provinces and territories
- Placing emphasis on accountability and results
To apply for the ASETS program simply fill out our form and schedule an appointment with our office. You will need to bring identification, all educational transcripts, letters of acceptance, proof of income, proof of Indigenous ancestry (or sign a declaration), birth certificates of any children in your care and any other supporting documentation that may help to supplement your application.
